Growing up in a small farming community working in the fields and the canneries, Chef CJ Sterling learned at a young age about food; where it came from, how it grew and what constitutes a quality product.  That education continued as she moved into her first professional cooking position at age 17.  A few years after that she opened a restaurant in Oregon with her mother, and spent a summer as a crew trainer opening new restaurants for a large chain, before returning to college. 

Working for over 20 years in various types of restaurants ranging from Japanese to Greek, family style to Fine Dining, Chef CJ honed her skills as a professional chef.  Traveling to such places as Japan, Europe, Australia and the Middle East, added to her knowledge, as did a Food Science & Nutrition major in college.  Chef CJ’s extensive experience includes positions as Executive Chef and General Manager in a wide variety of restaurants including a Sushi Bar and Four Star Beach Resort Hotel.

Chef CJ began taking on Personal Chef clients in January 2004, in order to spend more time with (and cook for) her aging father.
